Little Flower Respite Home Testimonial

We are a small specialist home who commenced operation in late 2013. Soon after we started operating Legislation made it mandatory that all homes have an independent visitor. We were fortunate to have Cheryl agree to become our independent visitor. I believe this because of the wealth of knowledge and experience she brought to our home, which at that point was a new and very inexperienced home.

Over the years, she has made a positive contribution to the consistent knowledge base and growth of our home in spite of maintaining her independent visitor status. Cheryl truly understands the workings of children’s homes. I have found her approach to be absolutely centered on what’s best for the children and young people placed with us, which is an exceptional quality in this field and one I value.

Being a specialist home, I am extremely interested in making the lives and experiences of our young people better. Through the guidance and support of Cheryl our care team have been able to work in partnership with her when needed, feeding off the vast knowledge and experiences of Cheryl in order to hone in on both best practices and outcomes for our young people.
With her in-depth knowledge of children’s homes regulations and workings, we have been able to work competently within our regulations and maintain a “GOOD” rating with OFSTED since commencing operations as a Children’s home in 2013. This consistent rating was maintained in part by Cheryl’s unwavering support and guidance. I am confident that Cheryl would continue to be an invaluable part of our home’s success and growth. Our staff team and young people are thankful to her for all contributions to our home.
