REGULATION 44
Regulation 44 Independent Visits
The Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards 2015 require that the registered provider is to appoint, at the registered provider’s expense, an independent person to visit and report on the children’s home in accordance with Regulation 44. This is to ensure objective critical analysis, with a view to improving safeguarding and service delivery.
CAMAC Care Services offers a professional, effective, and reliable service that is impartial, and independent visitors come from a range of social care backgrounds. The independent visitors complete monthly independent visits that are in line with regulations, as well as providing additional support to the team, offering advice and awareness to ensure that Looked After children and young people receive the best of care.
Independent visits focus on the home’s ability to meet the needs of children and young people living in the home on a daily basis, and how the identified needs are met, using the guidelines of the quality standards and regulations for children’s homes as a guide to measure the standard of care within the organisation.
CAMAC Care Services will identify what the home is doing well and, where areas of improvement are identified, the independent visitor will make recommendations which will encourage good practice and improvement. All concerns raised by young people, staff, and families will be included in the report and, where appropriate, recommendations and advice will be offered.
